Pie Graph Worksheets
Shelly Said:
y1=sinx, y2=cosx in between [0,pie/4]. revolve each set of graphs about y=0, y=1, y=10, and y=-5?We Answered:
Remember than y = sinX starts at 0 and increases tosqrt(2)/2 at pi/4 so if you revolve about y = 0 the radius is
sqrt(2)/2 Y = cos X starts at 1 and decreases to sqrt(2)/2

Jessica Said:
How would I graph these type of equations using my TI-84 Silver Edition Graphing Calculator?We Answered:
The first equation has amplitude of 2y = sine a is the standard graph. It has an amplitude of 1
y = 2 sine a. go to graph and type in this new equation. use the x instead of a. It will look the same as the standard one except it has a range of -2 to 2
the second equation has a period of pi/4
the standard equation has a period of 2 pi. to get to pi/4 we would have had to divide by 8, so this graph is y = sine (a/8)
