Printables For Teachers
Donna Said:
one more for PRESCHOO/Kindergarten teachers? We Answered:
I don't know if this one is widely used outside the UK but I can't recommend www.sparklebox.co.uk enough. It has all sorts of signs, labels, activities, games etc for people working with kids aged 3-7. It has great stuff, such as masks to use in story telling, and signs to put up in reading areas. It's really superb, and they've recently made it 100% free! Also, they have a section where you can see photos of displays that users have made, which give you great ideas for displays in your own classroom.Florence Said:
anyone know of any good web sites that offer FREE reading and math printables for a student in grade 1?We Answered:
These links are grade specific to help students practice on specific concept areas. All free!http://www.internet4classrooms.com/grade…
If a child doesn't understand a skill, they will still not know it if they are put on the computer to practice it. These skill practices are suggested to be used with adult or peer assistance until the student has a basic skill knowledge that can be improved with some extra practice. Your child will come across some things that may leave them looking confused. Read through the problem with them, prompt them a little bit, ask them how the teacher told them to solve it... Are you going to add or take-away? Remember, 9+9 to a 6 year old may seem like rocket science to them.
The 1st grade math section alone has over 100 sites. The ones marked with an apple are for teachers that can also be a a great help for you. Some links are better than others, so you might want to surf a few to see which might best for your child.
I use this site VERY often in my classes with great success, plus it starts building some basic Internet and technology skills, as well as confidence. It takes time to ID the best ones. Have fun and good luck!
