Leonard Said:
I 'm having a hard time solving this trig problem?We Answered:
the squared will give you 2 answers (one negative, one positive).from what I can see, the answer is right there. The sector area formula has two variables... sector area (in this case, you have named it 'k') and the radius. You are given the sector area, and have to work out the radius. So it should be a simple math problem from there

Solving a math problem involving advanced exponents?We Answered:
It is easier to work with exponents as fractions2^2.5 = 2^(5/2) = (2^5)^(1/2) = sqrt(32) = 4sqrt(2)
(the 1/2 power means the square root, 1/3 power cube root etc.)

Problem Solving...ahhh?We Answered:
1. 314The progression squares one number to get the next, then subtracts an amount to get the next. The amount being subtracted increases by 3 each time. 2 (squared) = 4 (minus 1) = 3 (squared) = 9 (minus 4) = 5 (squared) = 25 (minus 7) = 18 (squared) = 324 (minus 10) = 314
2. 71
The progression subtracts 8, then subtracts 4, then adds 6, then repeats.
3. 59
The progression alternates adding a number then it's square (for the even numbers) and then subtracting the next number then it's square (for the odd numbers). 11 (plus 4) = 15 (plus 16) = 31 (minus 5) = 26 (minus 25) = 1 (plus 6) = 7 (plus 36) = 43 (minus 7) = 36 (minus 49) = -13 (plus 8) = -5 (plus 64) = 59

Please help me on this problem solving worksheet?We Answered:
If you draw it out, the problem makes a right triangle:.......BOAT
...........|C
...........|......H
..........30...........A
...........|.....................I
...........|______40______N
......FLOOR
So using the Pythagorean Theorem:
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
a = 30
b = 40
c = length of the chain
so:
900 + 1600 = c^2
2500 = c^2
c = 50
The length of the chain is 50 ft.
