Basalt.

Viola Said:

How are igneous rocks formed/classified worksheet..HELP!?

We Answered:

1. Igneous rock formed from lava form on the outside of the crust. The rocks typically will have very small crystals if they have any at all. This is because they cooled very rapidly.

Rocks formed from magma form on the inside of the earth, they never reach the surface until they are completely frozen into rock. These rocks typically have visible crystals in them due to slower freezing. There are two main types of rocks in this category. Plutonic, and Intrusive. Plutonic igneous rocks usually have large crystals, Intrusive usually have smaller, but still visible to they eye.

2.Extrusive igneous rock

3. Because of pressure, density, heat and a bunch of other factors (sorry, don't know too much about this one)

4. Visible? The answer is correct with no blank filled in

5.Intrusive magma if you mean small to the human eye. Extrusive if you mean microscopically small.

6.amorphous or glassy

7. slower cooling allows larger crystals to develop

8. False, intrusive is a moderate amount of time, plutonic is a long time.

9.True
