Solids Liquids And Gases Worksheets

Sue Said:

Worksheet 3: How is it possible? Need help?

We Answered:

a) yes they are alike, cause they both take the shape of the container u put them in. the particles in them move a lot. they can be used as solvents.
b)they both have a definite volume. they do not expand as much on heating and are hard to compress.
c)it just isn´t. the most u can say is that they bost consist of atoms and molecules and there are intermolecular forces between them and they could be different state of matter of the same substance.
gases are not like solids. orgues are like onions
:-)

Ramon Said:

What is the spacing of atoms for gas, liquid, plasma, solid?

We Answered:

Not enough. Give some details.

A Mystery Elements worksheet?

We Answered:

G- potassium
M- hydrogen

O- Astatine
P- fluorine

p.s. I found this after I finished the worksheet. !!!

Jeanette Said:

Describe what it means to be a solid, liquid, and gas? (Particles)?

We Answered:

Solid: is where the particles are very condensed, stay the shape that they are in. in other words they have definite shape and volume.
Liquid: It has indefinite shape but definite volume. because it takes on the shape of the container.
Gas: It has indefinite shape and volume.

Jesse Said:

when is water a gas in a chemical reaction?

We Answered:

Water reacts the most to a change in temperature.

It is a gas when heat is added, making a vapor.

So, it is a liquid when the water is between the boiling point and freezing point temperature, and it is a gas when the water is above the boiling point.

Aqueous - any solute combined with water (the solvent) makes an aqueous solution
Solid - below the freezing point

Discuss It!
